SILENT INFLUENCE

This is the title of a novel written by a CODA, Randy Dignan, and published in 2025. Unlike the usual CODA memoirs, it is the fictitious story of Arthur Grant who was born deaf and mute. On the back cover of Randy's book, we read:

“Randy Dignan is a pastor, speaker, and author with a lifelong passion for communication and connection. Growing up the proud son of Deaf parents, he experienced firsthand the beauty--and the challenges--of life in both the Deaf and hearing worlds. His writing reflects a heart for people, a deep faith, and a belief that sometimes the most powerful messages are unspoken. When he is not writing or speaking, Randy enjoys spending time with his family and sharing the love of Christ wherever he goes. Silent Influence is his latest inspirational novel.”

Amazon shows that Randy currently has two published books, “Silent Influence” and “Family DOvotionals.” In my opinion, his writing style is captivating, and his message can be life-changing. What's more, it thrills me to see that upcoming CODAs will keep hearing folks aware of the silent minority in our midst. Every new generation must be educated in the rights and needs of those who are Deaf.
